Nokia takes Angry Birds to emerging markets

Pre-loading Rovio's vexed avians on its new Asha series of cheap S40 smartphones

You'd think there was nowhere left that the Angry Birds haven't conquered, but that's to overlook the vast number of smartphone-less users in India, LatAm, Africa and other developing economies.

Nokia is targeting these consumers with its four new affordable Asha S40 devices, and it's hoping Angry Birds will be an added draw.

It says the game will be offered to user of the new Nokia Asha 200, Asha 201, Asha 300 and Asha 303.

There's no detail yet on whether this is the full game or a cut down version or some kind of ad-funded 'lite' iteration.

Nokia also said the game is coming to all S40 users, but again no detail on how.
