Maemo early adopters get mobile web boost.
Nokia's Ovi Store isn't available for its N900 handset yet. Well, not officially. But users of the company's whizzy Maemo smartphone have found a way in nonetheless.
Unaffiliated website The Nokia Blog discovered today that while the N900's Ovi Store icon still takes users to a 'Coming Soon' page, they can now access the store via the store.ovi.mobi mobile website.
The blog has published a video to prove that users can download apps, games and content:
It's not enough to just launch a sexy smartphone in the post-iPhone era - you have to have a sexy applications store to back it up. Alright, it's debatable just how arousing Ovi Store is (are we pushing this metaphor too far?), but opening it up to N900 users is a sensible move.

Will this spur developers to start making Maemo apps left, right and centre though? That remains to be seen.
