Nokia has signed up as a Platinum Partner of the ME Awards 2007, which are formally ‘open’ for submissions this month.
The Nokia deal ensures a high promotional profile for the handset giant in the build-up to the event and headline billing on the night itself.Nokia was an ME Awards 2006 sponsor and continues to be incredibly active in content, having launched music services in the last year and recently re-branded its N-gage games proposition. It has also begun shipping its N95 Nseries device, which features GPS and is being touted as mobile’s first Tom Tom ‘killer’.
Kamar Shah, Nokia’s director of industry marketing (multimedia experiences), said: “Nokia is proud to be supporting the ME Awards. This is a great opportunity and platform to reward the innovators of our industry.”
This substantial sponsorship deal gets the ME Awards off and running. This month’s magazine presents a five-page guide to the event, featuring profiles of the 20 categories and a guide on how to enter. Full details will also be available shortly at www.mobile-ent.biz/awards.
The event will take place at The Brewery in London on September 18th, with over 500 people expected to attend. And it will start early, with Player X signing up as a Silver Partner and hosting a pre-event party at the nearby King’s Head pub from 5.30pm. There will also be much fun courtesy of Gold Partner Sega Mobile.
