Nokia debuts re-downloads for the Ovi Store

Good news for anyone who's had problems installing their downloads...

The latest version of the handset client for Nokia's Ovi Store allows users to re-download apps and games that they have previously purchased.

The feature, uncovered by blog All About Symbian, brings Ovi Store into line with iPhone's App Store, which keeps track of the apps a user has bought, and lets them be re-downloaded at any time.

The new feature is only available to users of the latest version of the Ovi Store client, which if not automatically updated on the phone, requires a slightly fiddly process to get hold of.

Still, it's a sign that Nokia continues to introduce new features and patch bugs in its store, which was much-maligned in the weeks following its launch earlier this year.

That said, ME bought a game - Digital Chocolate's California Gold Rush - from Ovi Store a few weeks back, and the download failed. At the time of writing, Ovi Store isn't letting us re-download it for free, so it's early days for the kinks in the system.
