Nokia has announced that it is closing its Nokia Messaging for Social Networks beta.
The app allowed users to access multiple social networks from one place, starting with Facebook and Twitter, while tapping into their handset's GPS for location elements.
Why has it closed down? The Nokia Messaging team has explained in a blog post:
"We are working hard on the commercial release of an integrated experience on Symbian^3 devices beginning with Nokia N8, which will mark a milestone for Nokia messaging with new features and functionality."
However, it says that Nokia's Beta Labs will continue to test services related to social networking.
