Nokia and Hungama team on Ovi Music Shorties

Offer 500 songs in a 90 second format.

The two firms are presenting tracks including Aapka Kya Hoga Janab E Ali (Dhanno, Jai Ho, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, Soni De Nakhre and many more.

Shorties was conceived to address slow download speeds in a pre-3G Indian mobile market.

The tracks themselves are not previews of the type that would appear on iTunes, but edited completed versions of the original song.

Jasmeet Gandhi, head of OPM and devices, Nokia India, said, : “With Ovi Music Store we are offering Indian consumers the biggest legitimate digital music service in India, with over four million songs.

"A key trend we have observed is that a lot of consumers prefer to download songs of shorter duration. Nokia Ovi Music Shorties will address this need for quick and easy music downloads.”
