Service passes landmark after four months of availability, with merging markets driving uptake.
Reuters reports that 250,000 Ovi email accounts have been opened since Nokia began offering the service four months ago.
Of course, the number is still a faction of the 25 million using RIM's BlackBerry email services, but Nokia says Ovi email (which forms part of the wider Ovi content offering) is gaining traction in emerging markets.
Specifically, Purnima Kochikar, director of the consumer messaging business at Nokia, said ten of the top 12 Ovi-using countries were emerging markets.
