Research from InMobi reveals Finnish company's dominant position
Nokia devices and the Symbian OS account for 47.8 per cent of global consumer mobile ad impressions, according to the first metrics report from mobile ad network InMobi.
Specifically, 'Nokia OS' devices generated 5.2 billion impressions in July (25.7 per cent of the global total), with Symbian devices generating 4.5 billion (22.1 per cent).
iPhone comes third in the rankings with a market share of 8.1 per cent from 1.7 billion impressions, with RIM fourth with 2.8 per cent from 570 million impressions.
Android rounds out the top five with a 2.2 per cent share from 450 million impressions.
In terms of iPhone ads, North America dominates with a 63.6 per cent share from 1 billion impressions, with Europe some way behind with 24.3 per cent of the market from 401 million impressions.
