Nokia focusing on more iterative improvements to its app store.
It seems Nokia may not be planning a major relaunch of its Ovi Store this Spring after all, judging by comments from its Head of Content, Media Gerard Grech.
"We've already seen massive improvements in terms of user experience, and based on publisher feedback we'll continue iterating the platform," he tells ME.
"You'll see some excellent new features coming out over this year, especially for certain of our key devices. It's much more evolutionary, and we'll optimise the experience according to the device."
This is despite his fellow media exec George Linardos saying in December that: "There's been this new platform being built in the background, which we'll be talking about in the next couple of months and launching in the Spring with what we're [internally] calling 2.0"
Grech says that Nokia is taking a more evolutionary view when it comes to improving the much-maligned Ovi Store.

"We've been averaging one update a month to the client, making sure we're iterating the experience based on user feedback, and also publisher feedback. It's almost on a real-time basis, rather than waiting months before making any changes."
Grech cites recent news like the million-download Ovi Store milestones for companies like Nimbuzz and Polarbit as evidence that this approach is paying dividends for app developers.
Meanwhile, the company is launching something called Ovi Apps Wizard - a template-based tool to help brands and media launch apps for Nokia's Store.
Currently in private beta, it's already spawned apps from Total Film and Le Monde. For the full Gerard Grech interview, click here.
