Pokemon Say Tap coming to iOS and Android
Nintendo has resisted the lure of mobile for years – not surprising given its commitment to its own handheld formats.
But now, says Kotaku Japan, the firm will release a game on a platform other than its own for the first time ever.
Pokemon Say Tap will be part card game, part rhythm game, but Nintendo is being nonchalant about its approach to mobile dev.
It told Kotaku its strategy “hasn’t changed and won’t change.”
For all its 'no big deal' bluster, this surely is a big deal. An indication that even the world's purest and most consistently brilliant game maker cannot resist the allure of mobile phone gaming any more.
