Nielsen has launched its Nielsen Mobile unit in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Russia.
The market researcher, which acquired telecoms specialist Telephia last year, will provide Europe’s mobile media and content industry with up-to-date trends and behaviour on the consumption of content including internet use, video, games, ringtones and music.“We see tremendous growth potential for Internet access via mobile phones. Our latest surveys reveal that one in ten mobile users in key European markets regularly uses their mobile to access the Internet,” said Jean Littolff, director of Europe for Nielsen Mobile.
“Nielsen Mobile is also actively working with all key stakeholders to develop Nielsen standard measurements around mobile television and will provide the necessary information and tools for companies to more rapidly develop this space.”
