Nickelodeon is launching its first iPhone and iPod iTouch apps on the iTunes App Store.

Nickelodeon is launching its first iPhone and iPod iTouch applications on the Apple iTunes App Store.

Content is based on the TV series SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer and iCarly. And Nick will also launch iPhone products drawn from its online gaming sites, Shockwave.com and AddictingGames.com.

The process started last month with The SpongeBob Tickler, which was developed in partnership with Mobui, and which Nick says is receiving more than 3,000 downloads per day.

New apps include a Dora the Explorer touch-and-shake oriented game, iCarly on the iPhone live action mini game app, SpongeBob’s Wacky Walk  platform game and more. Additional applications will be introduced throughout the year.
