These freemium games – Epic Pet Wars, Epic Chef Wars, Epic Crime Wars and Titan Wars – were never among the most popular in the repertoire.
And now the firm's site says: "Hello Epic players. On 1/16/11 Epic Pet Wars, Epic Chef Wars, Epic Crime Wars, and Titan Wars will shut down. These games will no longer be playable after this date. Thanks for playing with us over the past months!"
It can be assumed the DeNA owned publisher will now focus on more mouth-watering fare, such as We City and We Farm – and also DeNA's Mobage Town.
In Japan, Mobage Town has been a huge hit, with more than 20 million members playing social games on their mobile phones.
Last month, it was confirmed that Samsung will pre-load the title on selected Android phones.

Ngmoco was acquired by Japanese mobile social games giant DeNA for $403 million in September.
