Reports say Microsoft will join Google, RIM and Apple in embracing contactless payments tech.
Bloomberg says two sources close to Microsoft have revealed that a new version of the WinPho OS would build in NFC.
Microsoft has been quiet on the tech before unlike its rivals. Google built it into Nexus S, Apple has hired experts and registered patents, and RIM has declared its intent to put NFC in its devices this year.
The giant is likely to get support from new partner Nokia, which already supports NFC in some phones and will make it a standard feature of its 2011 Symbian devices.
