Pete Picton off to New York to work on rumoured digital newspaper project
PaidContent reports that Sun Online editor Pete Picton is to take up a new role within News Corp working on the company's much-talked about iPad publishing project.
The New York-based role will see Picton help launch what is thought to be a new tablet-only national US newspaper.
It will be subscription-based and is essentially a chance for News Corp to try new business and delivery models from a clean slate, rather than trying to force them onto its existing brands.
Last month it was revealed that News Corp had poached Viacom digital boss Greg Clayman to work on the project.
