NewBay expands to Asia-Pac

New offices in Sydney and Seoul, South Korea to service clients such as LG and Telstra.

NewBay is best known for its LifeCache service that enable operators and device makers to offer their customers cloud-based content and back-up.

It's won a lot of business in Europe with O2 (BlueBook), Orange (My Social Life) and others.

More recently the Irish company provided the enabling platform and APIs that power LG’s social networking service on Android devices. 

And in Australia, LifeCache SNG is the technology behind the Tribe social networking service deployed by the operator, Telstra.

Tribe delivers unmetered access to Facebook, Twitter and MySpace from one central location on the handset.

Paddy Holahan, CEO of NewBay, said, “Asia is the hub for consumer device innovation and we are now in a stronger position to work more closely with operators and device makers in APAC to drive innovation, usability and adoption of digital content cloud services.”
