Former Glu Mobile SVP and Universal Pictures mobile boss take up new positions, and it's all about the monetisation.
Two familiar faces from the mobile games industry have taken up new jobs, although neither is solely focused on mobile any more.
Jill Braff, formerly SVP of global publishing at mobile games firm Glu Mobile, is the new EVP of digital commerce at US retailer HSN, reporting directly to CEO Mindy Grossman. In between Glu and HSN, Braff was CEO of social photos service Scrapblog, which was recently acquired by a rival.
"A results-driven media executive with experience in consumer entertainment and emerging technologies for publicly traded companies, Jill will help expand HSN's reach to customers both online and on-the-go," says Grossman.
Meanwhile, Jeremy Laws, former head of mobile entertainment at Universal Pictures, has also started a new job this week. He's now head of monetisation at Amazon's movie-focused subsidiary IMDb.
Laws is well known to the mobile games industry, having inked many of Universal's deals with publishers for games based on its films. He left the studio at the end of 2008, and has since been consulting through his own Cabana Mobile company.
