New handset to be unveiled in London next week.

HTC’s new HTC One Android handset is set to land in March, following next week’s launch event in London, Mobile News has reported.

Currently going under the codename M7, the official name of the new HTC One device is yet to be confirmed by the manufacturer, having stated that it “doesn’t comment on rumour and speculation.”

While there have been no confirmed announcements regarding the phone’s features, the rumours have surfaced online suggesting that it will run on Android 4.1.2 and be 4G compatible.

It is also rumoured that the new device will come with a 4.7-inch display, a new version of HTC Sense, 32GB inbuilt memory, which is expandable with a MicroSD, and a 4.1 megapixel camera.

Furthermore, reports have hinted that the camera could include an ‘Ultrapixel Sensor’, which is designed to triple megapixel quality.

A substantial marketing campaign can be expected to accompany the new launch, after the HTC’s profits fell spectacularly last year (91 per cent), with the firm’s CEO Peter Chou citing poor marketing as the main reason behind the slump.
