More new media expansion at the Turner-owned broadcaster.
Cartoon Network Digital has named former Disney executive Kitric Kerns as its new vice president and executive producer, a role that will see him oversee CartoonNetwork.com’s overall strategy and content development.
The news comes a day after mobile games publisher GlobalFun inked an exclusive deal with Turner Broadcasting to develop and distribute Java games based on its brands, including Cartoon Network.
In terms of online, CartoonNetwork.com currently enjoys over five million unique visitors each month in North America and hosts over 200 free-to-play casual games. In 2008 it generated almost 2 billion game sessions.
“Kitric brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in the digital space working with leading branded entertainment websites,” senior VP of digital for Turner Broadcasting’s Animation, Young Adults & Kids Media division Paul Condolora stated.
“As we continue to develop our digital offerings on CartoonNetwork.com, Kitric will be a leader to maximize our audience through compelling content."
