New device fragmentation wizardry

New device fragmentation wizardry

Mobile Phone Wizards launches web-based mobile device database for content developers and publishers.

Mobile Phone Wizards have released what they claim is the world's largest device database as a web-based resource for mobile content developers.

The Norway-based company says DetectRight is the only device database and search engine that uses the 'cVocabulary' schema for mobile device capabilities, as specified by the W3C.

The database contains technical information for more than 9,000 mobile phones, which MPW says will help developers tailor content for different devices and quicken time to market.

Njal Wilberg, CEO of Mobile Phone Wizards, said: "The industry sees a device repository ecosystem as the future. But the jump from proprietary systems to a web service world can be daunting. The DetectRight platform bridges the gap, to help everyone from small companies to large enterprises which need dedicated detection platforms handling billions of hits."
