David McDonald promoted to CEO to replace Shashi Fernando, who moves to chief content officer at HTC.
It's a pretty remarkable ascent for Fernando, who just months ago was running an indie UK video delivery specialist.
Now, following Saffron's purchase by HTC, he's suddenly in charge of content strategy for (arguably) the world's fastest growing and most upwardly-mobile handset maker.
He will be based at HTC’s global headquarters in Taoyuan, Taiwan, and will report directly to Peter Chou, HTC’s CEO.
Back at home, McDonald will oversee Saffron’s office network and future expansion.
He said: "The acquisition by HTC enables us to realise some of our own ambitions: to expand our global operations, build capabilities in new related verticals and further scale our global solutions which are already driving incredible success for our customers.”
