Freshly announced, but not on display in Berlin.
Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet last week, but visitors to the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin can't get their hands on the device.
That's because it has been removed from display after Apple won a new injunction barring Samsung from promoting the device in Germany. The injunction is part of the companies' ongoing legal battle over accusations that Samsung copied Apple's iPad with its Galaxy Tab range.
Samsung spokesperson James Chung confirmed to Bloomberg that the Galaxy Tab 7.7 had been whipped off the company's IFA stand. "Samsung respects the court’s decision," he says.
TheDroidGuy has a longer statement in which Samsung promises to continue fighting the decisions. "we believe it severely limits consumer choice in Germany. Samsung will pursue all available measures, including legal options, to defend its intellectual property rights and ensure its innovative products remain available to German consumers."
Gadget blog This Is My Next has before and after pictures of Samsung's stand that qualify as one of the easiest 'Spot the Difference' competitions you'll ever see.
