Barnes & Noble officially wants to destroy the Kindle Fire.
Yesterday, we reported on a leaked document, which suggested book retailer Barnes & Noble was ready to launch a new 8GB Nook Tablet.
It turns out the document was genuine.
B&N's new tablet is now available for $199, a blow to Amazon, which had the upper hand against the firm with the $199 Kindle Fire, priced $50 cheaper than the 16GB Nook Tablet.
Aside from 8GB of onboard memory, the new Nook Tablet offers most of the same features of the 16GB version such as the seven-inch screen and an Android 2.3 OS, although RAM has been halved from 1GB to 512MB.
