Film and TV streaming platform launches at £5.99 per month to battle rivals including LoveFilm, and BSkyB.
The US platform, which currently has more than 25 million users across the Americas, Canada and the Caribbean has now been released in the UK and Ireland.
The Netflix service allows users to watch an array of films and programmes on smartphones, tablets and PCs for a monthly charge of £5.99.
However, while Netflix has proven popular overseas, it will have a hard time cracking the crowded British streaming market, which has Amazon's LoveFilm platform, BSkyB's mobile streaming apps and Tesco's BlinkBox.
Netflix says its streaming deals include broadcasters and film studios Disney, Sony, Paramount, ITV, Channel 4, Twentieth Century Fox, BBC and Lionsgate.
Additionally, Netflix roped in Arg and Sam of reality TV show, The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) to promote the launch.

Reed Hastings, CEO of Netflix, said: "We are starting 2012 in the best possible way: by giving consumers in the UK and Ireland an amazing entertainment experience.
"Now, you can enjoy as many great films and TV programmes as you want, when you want, where you want, for one low monthly price with no contracts or commitments."
LoveFilm has ensured it won't give in to Netflix without a fight, boasting contracts with ITV, BBC, Warner Bros, E1, Sony and Studio Canal to secure large titles including Twilight and The Social Network.
