NBC says its mobile coverage of last month's Winter Olympics in Vancouver was a roaring success, smashing traffic records set during the Beijing Summer games two years ago.
Between them, NBC's Olympics mobile site and iPhone app racked up 87.1 million page views during the 17 days of the Vancouver Games, compared to 34.7 million page views for the Beijing Games.
Meanwhile, the Vancouver event generated two million mobile video streams, up sixfold from Beijing's 301,000 streams.
NBC says its NBC Olympics app was the top free sports app on Apple's App Store at the start and end of last month's Games.
With Vancouver now done and dusted, roll on London 2012 - mobile will be an even more crucial part of the coverage of the next Summer Games.
