Watch matches live on iPhone and Android, with BlackBerry to follow by Christmas.
The National Basketball Association (NBA) is the latest US sports body to launch mobile apps that let fans watch games live, following in the footsteps of Major League Baseball.
NBA League Pass Mobile will be available this week for iPhone and Android handsets, with a BlackBerry version following by the end of the year.
Users will pay $39.99 for the app, which lets them watch up to 40 live games a week on their handset - albeit with local blackouts. The app will also offer alerts and stats.
"As we look to the future of our fan base, they're consuming content in a much different way, and in many ways the mobile phone is the connection to the world for the youth market," NBA Digital boss Bryan Perez tells CNET.
"If we want to cultivate fans and be innovative, we need to follow our fans where they're going."
