NAVTEQ opens 2010 Global LBS Challenge

Total prize pool starts at $6.7 million in cash and licences. Cripes!

Now in its seventh year, the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge invites developers to build apps for devices using dynamic positioning technology and NAVTEQ maps.

Over 32 per cent of finalists have gone on to receive VC funding or launch commercially distributed applications. 

Registration for all five regions (EMEA, North America, South America, Asia-Pacific and India) is now open.

The EMEA competition closes on Friday, October 30th, while the olution submission deadline is Friday January 8th, 2010.

The judging and awards ceremony will be held at a NAVTEQ hosted event at Poble Espanyol on February 14th during Mobile World Congress 2010.

North America registration ends on November 20th, with the awards ceremony at Where 2.0 (March 30th to April 1st) in San Jose.
