OpenStreetMap-based NavFree available now for the UK & Ireland, with Europe and US to follow
Navmii has launched a free turn-by-turn navigation app for the iPhone and iPad, firing a shot across the bows of the various premium solutions already available.
NavFree is now available for UK & Republic of Ireland and will be rolled out for continental European countries and the US shortly, with voice directions and menus in local language.
Navmii says a version of NavFree, which stores all maps on the device, will also be available for Android devices soon.
NavFree users are able to get map updates free of charge, but will be charged to add functions like speed cameras, local petrol prices and traffic information from within the app.
NavFree builds on Navmii's other app GPS Live, which is available for most of Europe priced at €3.99 per country.
