Forward-thinking publisher cuts 10 per cent of workforce
Namco Bandai will cut around ten per cent of its workforce in a bid to save the company $38m.
Some 630 of its workers will be made redundant, the Tokyo-headquartered group said, as part of a wider measure to save the company an annual $88 million.
It was only last week that Namco Networks revealed that its App Store releases have been downloaded 23 million times to date.
And earlier in January the company bolstered its position in the social networking space with a dedicated Facebook app that lets players sample and purchase the its mobile games.
Unfortunately it seems expension into new areas has not been enough to offset the drop off in Namco Bandai's traditional business.
