And they're checking-in more than 15 million times a week.

Social location startup Booyah says its MyTown game for iPhone now has more than 3.1 million registered users, who check-in more than 15 million times a week in the US.

The company has published a density map showing that its users mirror the population spread across the US, hammering home the point that MyTown is more than a Silicon Valley thing.

MyTown users have notched up 400 million check-ins in the US in the last six months, with the five most popular location types being restaurants, grocery stores, K-12 schools, clothing retailers and petrol stations.

These stats are all based on US usage of the app, but last week it launched in the UK, Australia and Canada, with more countries to follow in the coming weeks.

Booyah has also released a stat about its new product check-in feature, which lets players earn points in the game by scanning barcodes on products.
