MyTown goes 4.0 with new interface and features

Social location game keeps on evolving.

US developer Booyah has updated its popular MyTown social location iPhone game to version 4.0, with a refreshed user interface and new features.

The app has been one of the most popular social location apps on iPhone, passing two million users early last month.

The new features include the ability for players' properties - they buy and sell real-world locations within the app - to create virtual items, which can now be traded with other players.

There is also a new location tips feature, which lets people attach comments to individual places. Booyah has also tweaked the way check-ins work for advanced players of the game.

The update is the first since Booyah raised $20 million to fuel the next stage of MyTown's growth. Next on the agenda: launching the game outside the US.
