Who said operators didn't have a role to play on handset app stores?
O2 UK has launched an iPhone application that lets customers check their accounts from their handset.
It's called My O2, and features include the ability to see how many minutes and texts a user has left on their bundle, as well as checking their tariff, calling plan prices and Bolt Ons.
Pay Monthly customers get additional features like viewing recent charges on their account and their bill summaries.
The free app appears to have just gone live on the App Store - at least judging by O2 UK's tweet announcing it. It'll certainly come in handy for the hundreds of thousands of UK iPhone owners.
This sentence in the official App Store description made us chuckle, though: "We don't recommend that you use your iPhone abroad for data (such as sending or receiving emails or surfing the net) to save what could be an unexpected surprise on your bill when you get home."
