MWC: SKT and RealNetworks extend ASP partnership

Real also takes minority stake in SKT's LoEn subsidiary to develop and market digital music offerings.

SK Telecom and RealNetworks have deepened their strategic relationship in mobile content services.

Real, which has provided music-related ASP services to SK Telecom since 2001, will now extend its existing contracts with the mobile operator and begin providing new services until 2011.

Real has also taken a minority stake in SK Telecom's Korean subsidiary LoEn to develop and market digital music offerings.

In addition to services Real already powers for SK Telecom, the company will begin operating additional music services on behalf of the operator, including MelOn music-on-demand and ColoRing Ringback Tones.
