MWC: Newbay's 16 million new year messages

NewBay backed up over 16 million messages on New Year’s Eve for O2 Bluebook users.

The Irish firm, whose LifeCache platform stores media oniine for operators, launched Bluebook in 2006 to enable subscribers to back up their texts, MMS messages and photos.

“At O2 we realise the significant value that our customers place on their messages and the memories they represent. That is why we chose NewBay to deploy our flagship Bluebook service,” said Richard Porter, head of voice and messaging, Telefónica O2 UK. “Bluebook’s robust handling of a record volume of messages over a very short timeframe demonstrates the solution’s ability to meet the significant demands of this popular service.”
