ng Connect initiative brings together device, application, infrastructure and content providers.
Alcatel-Lucent has unveiled the 14-member ng Connect Program to drive the development of innovative services for LTE, 4G and other ultra-bandwidth networks.Founding members include 4DK, Alcatel-Lucent, Buzznet, chumby, Connect2Media, dimedis, FISHLABS, HP, QNX, Samsung, SIGNEXX, Total Immersion, TuneWiki and Words & Numbers.
The initiative will focus on developing augmented reality, mobile games and compelling social networks/entertainment experiences.
The ng Connect Program’s initial phase has three goals:
- Accelerating deployment of new services and devices through pre-integration and validation.

- Identifying and promoting new revenue streams through innovative business models.
- Broadening the wireless broadband device landscape to include consumer electronics products, industrial and consumer equipment for machine-to-machine communications, and automotive connectivity.
