Mobile ad specialist's network impressions increased 17.4 per cent to reach 2,374,844,534.

The figure compares to 2,023,094,821 for December, with UK requests and impressions up 19.9 per cent in January, passing South Africa to take the number three position in Admob's rankings.

In the US, AdMob saw a significant spike in network traffic during the Superbowl on February 3rd.

The top devices in AdMob's top  four markets remained the same: US (Motorola KRZR), India (Nokia 6030), South Africa (Motorola v360) and the UK (SonyEricsson
K800i). In Indonesia, the Nokia 6600 passed the Nokia 6030 as the top device in terms of impressions.
