Computing giant wades into mobile space with eight Windows Mobile devices.
Acer has taken the wraps of its smartphone range with handsets targeted firmly at the pro-sumer demographic.Four Windows Mobile 6.1 devices have been unveiled this morning, with Acer stating that there will be at least four more before the year is out.
It also hinted there will be others based on OSs such as Android.
Taiwan-based Acer says it wants to break into the top five smartphone manufacturer rankings within five years.
The daddy of the Tempo range is the M900 (pictured), which comes with a slide-out keyboard, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, Outlook Mobile email and Office Mobile, HSDPA, 3.8-inch WVGA touchscreen and a 5-megapixel camera.

Then there's the F900, which is being pitched as optimised for web browsing. The 3.8-inch WVGA touchscreen has a touch keyboard, Internet Explorer 6 supporting JavaScript and Adobe Flash Lite, GPS, widget-absed homescreen, HSDPA/HSUPA and WiFi connectivity.
The all rounder of the range is the X960, which offers embedded GPS functionality, 2.8 inch VGA touchscreen, widget-based interface and 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera with flash.
Finally, the DX900 wields dual SIMs, HSDPA, 2.8 inch VGA display, Outlook Mobile and 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera with flash and expandable memory.
