Qualcomm unit to supply recommendation tech that personalises the experience for end users.
Telefonica unveiled its cloud-based app service - codenamed Frigo - earlier today.
It will initially launch the Xiam solution within its multi-platform app folder, and thereby deliver recommendations tailored to the preferences of customers across Web, mobile and IPTV.
And further ahead, Telefonica wants to expand the integration of Xiam's technology into music, video and customer rewards.
Xiam's recommendations technology uses algorithms and decision making techniques to track a user's behaviour and then identify the service, content, offer or event most likely to address their needs.
"With the vast range of choices available today, we understand that consumers find value in getting a more personalized experience across all touch points, and that presenting relevant offers increases engagement and strengthens loyalty, " said Colm Healy, vice president and general manager of Xiam.
