Operator promises easy-to-understand rates for the price of a coffee
Orange has extended its a ‘€2 for 2MB’ Travel Data Daily roaming tariff to more countries, which it says will give customers peace of mind when using the mobile internet around the European Union.
The operator is also launching a €5 for 10MB tariff for smartphone users, though this will only be available in France to begin with.
Specifically, the €2 for 2MB Travel Data Daily roaming bundle, which launched in Spain and Romania in 2009, is now being rolled out to the UK, Poland, France, Slovakia, Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg, Belgium and Moldova, and will be offered to existing customers on an opt-in basis.
Orange says the 2MB allowance equates to 'thousands' of Twitter messages, 80 to 100 emails (not attachments), 80 to 100 web pages (text) or approximately 15 to 20 images.
The plan is designed to appeal to a broad base of customers using feature phones with internet, email and social networking capabilities.
