MWC 2010: MobiTV joins LiMo Foundation

Becomes Associate Member to further the development of Linux-based mobile OS

MobiTV has joined LiMo Foundation as an Associate Member to 'advance the development of an open, hardware independent Linux-based operating system for mobile devices'.
 
As a member of LiMo Foundation, MobiTV will explore opportunities to contribute technologies and collaboratively develop the LiMo Platform, alongside other member companies.

MobiTV counts Sprint, AT&T and Verizon Wireless among its client base and licenses content from ESPN, Disney Channel, MTVN, CBS, NBCU and Warner Music.
 
Kay Johansson, CTO of MobiTV, said: “We look forward to working with other members in LiMo Foundation to take advantage of the ever-increasing capabilities of mobile phones and to continue delivering a next-generation experience for consumer, carriers, hardware manufacturers and content providers.
