4m users have downloaded it in its first year too.
Bitstream has announced the release of version 1.7 of its Bolt mobile browser, a year after the app was first released in public beta, while also revealing that it now has more than four million users.
New features in version 1.7 include widgets, which are installed and run inside the browser itself. The standard W3C widgets will be found via the official Bolt widget gallery, although the feature is currently in beta.
Meanwhile, Twitter is integrated into Bolt 1.7, letting people tweet while they browse the web, rather than having to visit Twitter's mobile site or use an app.
Bitstream has boosted Bolt's video capabilities too, so it can now watch embedded YouTube videos on any website, while also supporting videos posted on the CNN and ESPN websites - it already supports YouTube videos.
There are also new keyboard shortcuts, and support for different languages. Meanwhile, users on networks with socket connections will now get a 15% speed increase, thanks to automatic socket support.

Finally, Bolt 1.7 has a beefed-up download manager, that can download several files simultaneously, while also pausing and restarting downloads.
Besides the four milion users stat, Bitstream says in its first year, Bolt has streamed more than 135 million minutes of video, served more than 515 million pages, and downloaded more than 132 terabytes of data.
"As excited as we were for the first year of BOLT, the next year promises to be more dynamic as we plan to introduce features that took longer to engineer and we add more handset manufacturers to the roster of those preloading BOLT on mobile phones," says president and CEO Anna Magliocco-Chagnon.
The company is hoping to sign up more at Mobile World Congress this week, although it's facing competition from browsers including Opera Mini and Skyfire, not to mention the newly-released Firefox Mobile.
