Taiwan vendor gunning for 8 million units sold in 2010
Acer has signaled its intentions to take on the big boys in the smartphone space.
Speaking to Reuters, the company's chief executive Gianfranco Lanci said the company is aiming to sell 2.5 to 3 million units this year, rising to 7 to 8 million in 2010.
Lanci also said that ACer would not be deviating from its two-promged mobile OS strategy in the form of Windows Phone and Android.
Yesterday the company unveiled its Liquid e smartphone, which is based on version 2.1 of Google mobile OS.
It also took the wraps off the Windows Mobile-powered neoTouch P400 and netbooks that offers both Windows and Android as boot options.
