MusicStation goes live on Vodafone Australia

That's two Antipodean launches in a week for the music download service.

Last week Voda New Zealand rolled out the unlimited music subscription platform. Now, Voda Oz operator will offer MusicStation for a flat fee of $2.75 per week, with no download fees. MusicStation provides access to a catalogue of over one million tracks from all major record labels, along with a range of local and independent artists including Shock, Liberation Music, All Killer, Blue Pie, Destra and MGM.

The MusicStation application can be downloaded free from Vodafone live! and opened at the touch of a button from the menu screen. Subscribers can browse new music or search by artist, song or genre to download tracks, which are saved to their mobile phone memory and are accessible for the duration of their subscription.

Omnifone claims to be working towards launches with 30 operators. So far it’s live in the Voda UK, Telenor Sweden, 3 Hong Kong, Vodacom South Africa and Vodafone New Zealand.
