mSpot amasses 4m subs

On-deck mobile radio and movie services push mSpot past subscriber milestone.

mSpot says it various mobile content service have amassed four million subscribers, representing a 260 per cent increase in the last 12 months.

The company powers 13 services across eight North American operators, including mSpot Radio, mSpot remix and mSpot movies. All are available through a single on-device app.

In the past year mSpot has inked deals with AT&T and Alltel, adding to its existing relationships with Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Boost, Bell Mobility and Telus.  

mSpot CEO Daren Tsui said: “These numbers are a clear and overwhelming sign that consumers want to do more with their phones than just make calls and send text messages - they want entertainment too."
