Report says British Home Secretary claimed £240 of taxpayers money to but Apple's device for husband.
Even one of the biggest scandals in the history of British politics isn't immune to the iPhone effect, with news that Home Secretary Jacqui Smith claimed back the cost of an iPhone she bought for her husband.
The Telegraph reports on documents that appear to show that Smith wrote off 90 per cent of the cost as an expense on the basis that 90 per cent of the calls made from it would be work-related (her husband is also her constituency office manager).
The article cites sources who stress that the cost of the iPhone was comparable to that of a BlackBerry, and that Miss Smith had not claimed for any bills.
Surely even Parliament's expenses department wouldn't allow anyone to claim back the cost of a Sonic The Hedgehog download. Would it?
