Motorola offers developers DeviceAnywhere

Handset maker's MOTODEV community now has remote access to devices from the US, Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Motorola has launched a Virtual Developer Lab using technology from DeviceAnywhere, which has similar deals in place with Forum Nokia and RIM (BlackBerry).

It means MOTODEV members now have remote access to 40 handsets from the US, Europe, Taiwan, India and Brazil through a desktop interface available via the internet.

They can then test their apps without having to own a physical handset.

Christy Wyatt, Vice President, Software Platforms and Ecosystem, Motorola.  “As a result, consumer demand for sophisticated mobile applications and content shows no signs of slowing down and – subsequently – it is imperative that mobile operators, handset manufacturers and platform providers continue to feed this demand with increasingly advanced devices and mobile applications.”
