Surely they'll need some operators on board too, though?
Video rental chain Blockbuster has announced a deal to preload its Blockbuster OnDemand movie download service on selected Motorola handsets.
It's the first such mobile deal for Blockbuster, which has been expanding its digital activities in recent times to compete with rivals like Netflix.
The company is promising that Moto users will have access to thousands of movies from its catalogue, although no details have been announced about likely pricing for the film downloads.
However, the stumbling block for the service may well be carrier data charges, if Motorola doesn't get mobile operators on board. Movies are considerably more bandwidth-sucking than rival entertainment downloads like games and music.
Motorola isn't alone in targeting movies as the next big entertainment thing for mobile, though. Sony Ericsson and Samsung have both announced movie services this year, while Apple recently tweaked the iPhone version of its iTunes Store to let people buy and download films over Wi-Fi.

Perhaps Wi-Fi will be the key for Motorola and Blockbuster's service too, given that the Blockbuster app will be preloaded on Moto's next generation of handsets.
