Motorola acquires web apps firm 280 North

$20 million deal secures Android development expertise

Motorola has acquired web applications specialist 280 North, which was part of the Y Combinator venture fund.

The terms of the deal haven't been disclosed, but Techcrunch asserts that its was for $20 million.

280 North had created its own rich web app programming language and development framework called Cappuccino.

A Motorola spokesperson told Techcrunch that it would be using the firm's technology to further its web app expertise, particularly in the Android space.
