Motorola has re-visited its swivel phone concept with the launch of the circular-screen Aura.
The handset firm says the new device is inspired by luxury watch design, and that it’s the industry’s first phone to feature a round screen. It certainly looks a lot like the v70, which was launched in 2003.The mechanics of the phone sound impressive – it has a Swiss-made main bearing, gears composed of Rockwell 50-55 hardened steel and 130 precision ball bearings to drive the assisted-opening blade.
Gosh.
Features-wise there’s a 2-megapixel camera, 2GB of user-accessible memory, MP3 player and Bluetooth. AURA is expected to be available around the globe beginning in Q4 2008
