US firm Motally is the latest company looking to help mobile developers track usage of their apps.
The company has announced a beta launch of its new app analytics service, initially focusing on iPhone and BlackBerry, with Android support following later.
Motally's service will let developers track events, gather demographic data and optimise their mobile advertising campaigns. It's an extension of Motally's existing mobile web analytics service.
"The possibilities of data we can capture and report on are nearly endless and give publishers the most flexibility to understand usage of their applications," says CEO Arte Merritt.
However, there is no shortage of competitors, particularly on iPhone.
Flurry already supports iPhone, Android, BlackBerry and Java with its analytics service, while those focusing on iPhone apps include Mobclix, Pinch Media and Mobilytics.
